This project was one of my absolute favorite ones to do. I was brainstorming different landscapes to draw and came across the idea of doing a farm. I chose this landscape because I had grown up on a farm and missed it dearly. I’ve always loved the look of old barns like this, and the trees and silo reminded me of my childhood farm. I started doing a rough sketch, then refined the edges to clean it up more. Once happy, I scanned it onto my computer and brought it into Photoshop. From there, I would take the photo I used for reference and swatch different colors to paint my drawing. The many brushes I used helped me to get different textures making things look more realistic. Once I finished the painting, I brought it into InDesign and used my typography skills to put a quote on top that fit the landscape. It took a lot of time and patience to complete this project, but I am very proud of how it turned out.
